Landscape Architecture & Stormwater Management Design
Former Concord Hotel Site | 30-Acre Water Park & Resort Development
An extensive landscape architecture plan was developed for the transformation of the former Concord Hotel site into a new 30-acre water park and resort. A key component of the design focused on integrated green infrastructure and sustainable stormwater management solutions.
The project included the design of guest arrival zones, a resort parking area, and a comprehensive stormwater strategy to manage runoff, promote infiltration, and enhance ecological function. Design development and construction documentation featured the implementation of:
Biofiltration swales to treat stormwater runoff and improve water quality
Stormwater retention basins to manage peak flows and support groundwater recharge
Erosion control measures to protect site integrity during and after construction
A curated arrival experience that balances aesthetics, functionality, and environmental performance
This holistic approach supports resilience and sustainability while enriching the guest experience and integrating the development with the surrounding landscape.
This project was designed by Aspect 120’s founding principal while employed at a previous firm.
