Cultural Landscape Report | Historic Preservation & Site Interpretation
Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters | Hartsdale, NY | Westchester County Parks
Aspect 120 Landscape Architecture P.C. prepared a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for the Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters, a Revolutionary War–era site of national significance. As the former headquarters of General Rochambeau during the 1781 march to Yorktown, the site holds deep historical and cultural value.
Commissioned by Westchester County Parks in partnership with the Friends of Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters, the CLR provides a framework for preserving the site’s historic character, while supporting future interpretation, access, and community engagement.
Report elements include:
Historical research and cultural landscape analysis
Documentation of existing conditions and character-defining features
Treatment recommendations aligned with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards
Long-term preservation, programming, and maintenance strategies
In addition to the CLR, Aspect 120 developed comprehensive construction documentation for an upcoming improvement project at the 1-acre public site, ensuring sensitive implementation of enhancements that respect the site’s historical significance.
Aspect 120’s work supports the County’s and community’s shared goal of transforming the site into a publicly accessible destination that honors its Revolutionary War legacy and fosters educational opportunities for future generations.
